SOUTHERN BALIEM VALLEY TREKKING
08DAYS / 07NIGHTS

DAY 01 : JAYAPURA-ARRIVAL (D)
Arrival at Sentani airport of Jayapura, met by our guide then transfer to hotel for overnight stay. Dinner will have at hotel's restaurant. The rest of the day will be your own program.

DAY 02 : JAYAPURA – SOGOKMO – KURIMA – KILISE (B,L,D)
After breakfast, transfer to airport for your flight to Wamena. Upon arrive at Baliem valley airport, then drive 40 minutes to Sogokmo, the starting point of the trekking with your guide, cook and local porters. Trek will be 4 hours thru Kurima District and passing some Dani sweet potatoes gardens. Afternoon arrived at village and you may walk around, while your cook preparation for dinner. Overnight stay at local guest house of Kilise.

DAY 03 : KILISE – IBIROMA - SYOKOSIMO (B,L,D)
After breakfast, you proceed to descend the steep hill down to traditional hanging bridge across Baliem river. Today’s walk is a little harder with narrow and slippery paths. But you may also enjoying the nature’s beauty by stopping in the small waterfall to get refreshing while the cook serving lunch. After this part, the path gets smaller and tricky until you find another river with no bridge to cross. Trek about 4-5 hours to Syokosimo village.

DAY 04 : SYOKOSIMO – HITUGI  (B,L,D)
The trekking today is the shortest one. After breakfast you are proceed to continue the trek up to a village called Hitugi. Climbing up the hill all the way to the village is something different, but the scenery is incredibly beautiful combined with small villages and local people working in the field. You arrive to the village by noon where the cook is ready to serve lunch. Dinner and overnight stay at Hitugi village. (Walk approx.  3 hours)

DAY 05 : HITUGI – KURIMA – SOGOKMO – WAMENA (B,L,D)
After breakfast, leaving Hitugi back to Sogokmo. The walk today is the longest one, but the terrain is not very difficult as trails wider and the panorama is so evicting. Passing Kurima village before ending up in Sogokmo where the car ready to take you back to Wamena. Lunch served en route. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

DAY 06 : WAMENA – JIWIKA (Pig feast & dance) – WAMENA (B,L,D)
After breakfast, we drive by car in 25 minutes to Jiwika after we reported your traveling permit to police station then walk around 5 minutes to Anemoigi village to see Mock war and dance. For whole your journeys today is the highlight because you can make a lot of picture of them and no one with western clothes during ceremony.  The ceremony it does take around 4 hours and our Lunch we served grill Pig with sweet potatoes.  After ceremony was over we walk with the same way back to see MUMMY in Sumpaima village. Late afternoon we can visit Lani market and another Dani tradition marker  in Wamena nearby. Dinner and overnight stay at Baliem Pilamo Hotel.

DAY 07 : WAMENA – JAYAPURA (B,L,D)
After breakfast, transfer to airport for your flight back to Jayapura. On arrival, you may have a full day sightseeing tour including Mac Arthur 2nd World War monument, excursion at Sentani lake by boat. Lunch serve at lake side restaurant. After lunch, see the Anthropology museum, Hamadi market & Jayapura town. Afternoon back to hotel for overnight and dinner.

DAY 08 : JAYAPURA – DEPARTURE (B)
Breakfast at hotel and proceed to airport for Depart to the next destination. End of services.

DAY 01 : JAYAPURA ARRIVAL – FLY TO WAMENA (meals exclude)
Morning arrival at Sentani airport of Jayapura, met by our guide then catch noon flight to Wamena, Upon arrive at Wamena airport transfer to Baliem Pilamo Hotel for your accommodation. The rest of the day will be your own program.

DAY 02 : WAMENA – SOGOKMO – KURIMA – IBIROMA (B,L,D)
After breakfast, drive 40 minutes to Sogokmo, the starting point of the trekking with your guide, cook and local porters. Trek will be 4 hours thru Kurima District and passing some Dani sweet potatoes gardens. Afternoon arrived at village of Ibiroma and you may walk around with exotic Baliem Goerge, while your cook preparation for dinner. Overnight stay at local guest house of Ibiroma village.

Day 03 : IBIROMA – WAMAREK (B,L,D)
After take a breakfast, continue our trek with all of our team to Wamarek village via some Dani traditional houses with it is spectacular view and the highest points  of our trek (1.800 m ) above sea level.  Today our trek is 4hours. Lunch will be serves at side of Tangma river  and  you can soak your aching bones in the river. Dinner and overnight stay at Dani local tradition house.

Day 04 : WAMAREK – WESAGALEP (B,L,D)
Today continue trekking altogether about 5-6 hours passing through suspension bridge then high-up to reach waterfall area where your cook and porters prepare simple lunch. After lunch continue trekking up to reach Wesagalep village for your overnight stay at School.

Day 05 : WESAGALEP – WUSEREM (B,L,D)
Trekking up-and down through out the trail to the way experienced with daily activity by the local tribe passing rain forest with it is moss and way down to river where you have lunch provided. Your trekking today will take about 5 hours to get Wuserem village for your night stay at local church or school.

DAY 06 : WUSEREM – SEIMA – SOGOKMO – WAMENA (B,L,D)
After breakfast, continue the last trek back to Sogokmo with crossing traditional hanging bridge over Baliem River. Lunch will serve in Seima village. After lunch continue to Sogokmo where the car will take you back to “civilization” of Wamena. Dinner and overnight at hotel of Wamena. (Walk approx. 5 hours)

DAY 07 : WAMENA – JAYAPURA (B,L,D)
Morning transfer to airport for your flight back to Jayapura. Arrival at airport of Jayapura You may have a full day sightseeing tour including Mac Arthur 2nd World War monument, Sentani lake by boat. Lunch have at lake side restaurant. Then see the Anthropology museum, Hamadi market & Jayapura city. Afternoon back to hotel.

DAY 08 : JAYAPURA – DEPARTURE (B)
Breakfast at hotel and proceed to airport for Depart to the next destination. End of services
