CENTRAL LOMBOK REGION
 CENTRAL
LOMBOK is part of West Nusa Tenggara Province; PRAYA is the
name of central Lombok capital while the regencies located
around 25 kilometers from Mataram City.
The most interesting places
which is almost visitor comes visiting Central Lombok is
Tanjung A’an Beach and especially for those who like the
beach activity and surfing. The area has beautiful white
sandy beach with the number of surfing location.
KUTA BEACH
This spectacularly picturesque
beach is one of the most popular beaches in Lombok. Named
after Princess Mandalika, a princess from Sasak legend who
was unable to make a decision about which of her many
suitors she should marry. Her only solution was to transform
herself into sea worms.
TANJUNG A’AN BEACH
Tanjung A'an is a wide range of
sandy beach where smooth turquoise waters offer safe
swimming and snorkeling only seven kilometer from the Kuta
Beach central area. When the ocean swells that pound the
south coast hit the submerged coral of the more protected
bays they well up and from perfect waves for surfers.
MAWI, MAWUN & SELONG BLANAK
BEACH
Mawun beach is your classic
half-moon bay of crystal clear water. A favorite place for
swimming, surfing and snorkeling. Twelve kilometers west of
kuta on the south coast is the beautiful bay of Selong
Belanak, bordered by two rocky promontories.
GERUPUK BEACH
At Gerupuk (pronounced more
like 'Gruppuk', and remember the trilled 'r') the waves are
reef breaks. They generally suit long-board surfing better
than short boards.
POPULATION
Based on the survey result in
1997, the populations of Central Lombok are 825.772 which is
348.867 male and 440.905 female. Based on population data,
we can see the main power potency in various economic
sectors is tourism.
ACCOMMODATION
A number of hotel which is is
spread in South Lombok, especially at KUTA BEACH. NOVOTEL
CORALIA which is classified into four star rated
accommodation and the other small hotel such as : Tastura
Boutique Hotel, Kuta Indah, Surfer Inn. The two hotel
classified as the simple accommodation is located in Praya
the capital of Central Lombok.
RESTAURANT
A number of restaurant in Kuta
Lombok line up on the main street of Kuta Beach such as
Segara Anak Restaurant, Tastura and Rinjani Restaurant.
