
Getting To Gili Island
Gili has long been the magnet for holiday makers from around the globe. It has gorgeous beach and fantastic under sea charms for divers or snorkelers to discover. Gili can easily be accessed either from the mainland, Lombok, or directly from Bali by fast boat.
FROM MAINLAND, LOMBOK
As soon as you arrive at the airport or harbor, you can hire an airport taxi to get to the harbor of Bangsal, the most common port to cross the strait to Gili. Public boats tickets are available at the clerk for fixed prices. The schedule really depends on the maximum number of allowed passengers. However, chartered boats are also available at significantly more expensive price. All prices are listed clearly at the booking clerk large board. So, get the real deal there and don’t get trapped by the local boys.
FROM BALI– DIRECT
There are several fast boats sailing directly from Bali every day such as:
Gili Cat, a small Australian made fast boat, departs from Padang Bae Bali at 09:00 AM every day and takes about two and a half hours to Gili Trawangan, as well as Teluk Kodek Lombok. The boat leaves Gili Trawangan at 11:30 and sail back to Bali from the mainland at 12:15 PM. Includes in their tickets price is transfer from Kuta and Sanur to Padang Bae vv.
Mahi – Mahi motor yacht leaves Serangan harbor at 07:30 AM daily and arrives at Gili Trawangan at 10:00 AM. The yacht returns to Bali at 11:00 AM.
Blue Water Express leaves Benoa harbor in Bali at 08:00 AM for the three Gili, Trawangan, Meno and Air. The BWE departs from Gili Trawangan at 11:00. Transfer from hotel in Bali is included in the fare.
Bounty Cruises sails back between Bali and Lombok after pausing its service for quite sometime. Carrying passengers up to 500, the cruise sails between the islands every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Departs from Benoa harbor at 08:00 and stop over at Gili Rengit on the way to Teluk Nare, from where connection to Gili Trawangan is easy.
