1.    Please always be with you Yogyakarta’s tourism map to find the best tourist attractions and objects easily.

2.    Park your personal vehicle in the available parking area and ask for an official and new parking ticket (not a used one).

3.    If taking public transportation, ask for the closest route to the tourist objects, and if you drive by a taxi, get into one which uses an Argo (meter).

4.    If taking a becak (pedicab) or andong (horse cart), make a deal in advance about what you should pay.

5.    Keep an eye on your valuables in public places and tourist attractions.

6.    If shopping for souvenir or anything in the traditional markets or the street vendors, bargain down the prices. You will usually be able to bargain down to around 40-50% of the original asking price but it will take much time.

7.    If having meals in a lesehan (sitting on the floor) in the Malioboro area, ask for the menu list and make a deal about the fixed price before you eat because quite often the menu list and prices that they tell you at the register are different.
