Day 01 ARRIVE in KUPANG
Arrival in Kupang transfer to Hotel. If time permits todays’s program is visiting Kupang Regional Museum, downtown Kupang and Lokabinkra - the handicraft center.
Day 02 KUPANG - KEFAMENANU
Timor is the home of several ethnic groups who inhabit the mostly dry island. For centuries the island known for the fragrant trees - the Sandalwood which drove the Portuguese to occupy the land. Despite the very early contact with western civilization, the people are still very strong in keeping their old traditions and believe. The further inland you go the more chance you get to contact with the indigenous people with their unique traditional houses. Your program today begins with the visit to Kupang Provincial Museum to give you ideas on the island. There are chances to stop en route, such as at the forest next to Soe where you can see the Sandalwood trees. Afternoon visit Oelolok the home of the former Raja of Insana. The area is famous for the Ikat and Supplementary Weaving known as Sotis, Lotis and Buna. The women weave the sarongs under the umbrella shaped granaries.
Day 03 KEFAMENANU - KUPANG
In the morning visit Kefamenanu market and Maslete traditional village where you can see the animistic shrine. En route to Kupang stop in Soe for lunch and for those who are interested in collecting locally made souvenirs, Soe is a good place to shop such articles. Afternoon pay a visit to a family who is producing Sasando - the typical palm leaf made harp.
Day 04 KUPANG - NEXT DESTINATION
LAMALERA ADVENTURE
The Ancient Fishing Tradition

Day 01 ARRIVAL MAUMERE drive directly to LARANTUKA
Arrival in Maumere drive directly to Larantuka, there are chances to have photo stops en route, such as in Konga with its beautiful panoramic view. Overnight in Larantuaka.
Day 02 LARANTUKA - LEWOLEBA - LAMALERA
Early morning take regular boat to Lewoleba, upon arrival transfer to local restaurant for lunch. Afternoon drive to Lamalera. Overnight at the homestay.
Day 03 LAMALERA - JOIN THE HUNTING FLEET
Today’s program includes joining the whale hunting fleet on Peledang - the very primitive made wooden sailing boat with palm fiber sail. The fisherman will set sail early in the morning (about 6 o’clock). They will catch by harpooning any kind of big eatable sea creatures seen during the day. There is risk of being wet or half drowned if they do catch swimming animals on high seas. There will be lunch box provided during the day. If no catch the fleet will return to the village by about 14.00 PM. Take your spare time in the afternoon to comprehend more about the daily life of the people in the village.
Day 04 LAMALERA - LARANTUKA - MAUMERE
Take the last chance to comprhend the daily life of the Lamalera fishing village and then drive back to Lewoleba to catch the regular boat to Larantuka. Lunch in Lewoleba. Afternoon sail to Larantuka and then drive to Maumere.
